This is a visually beautiful and clean store. Employees are, for the most part, very helpful and pleasant. Challenges to enjoyment: the acoustics are horrible - too much reflected noise off all the hard surfaces makes listening to laptop or tablet videos (even with earbuds) almost impossible without turning the sound up to unsafe and uncomfortable levels. Also. The metal sinks provide heart-stopping noise when the employees smash other metallic items into it for washing. People in the room wince from the intensity of the crash-clanging. This happened 9 times in one hour a few nights ago. I tested the noise level over several visits. The average noise level between 10am and 5 pm is over 100 decibels ...in the unsafe range comparable to noise at an airport.
This problem can be alleviated by suspending decorative cloth hangings from the ceiling that will break up the noise reflections and absorb some energy. Also, installing a drop ceiling would help a great deal.
